Sidi Bouzid a year after Tunisia's uprising


The uprising in Tunisia began exactly a year ago when young fruit seller Mohammad Bouazizi set himself on fire to protest against injustice and humiliation. Now, protesters have gathered outside the governor's office in the Tunisian city of Sidi Bouzid, poor, and very angry. According to one protester, the people of Sidi Bouzid are marginalised and feel nothing has been achieved since the uprising began. Al Jazeera's Hashem Ahelbarra reports from Sidi Bouzid, Tunisia.

Tunisia closes border with Libya


Tunisia has closed its two official border crossings with Libya until the Libyan government improves security at the border posts. Tunis shut the border after a group of armed Libyans tried to cross. The Libyans reportedly got into an argument and then fired shots into the air. Anita McNaught reports from Ras Jedir, on the Libyan border with Tunisia, on the economic impact of that decision.

Islamists and secularists clash in Tunisia


Tunisians are yet to get a new government after political infighting delayed the appointment of new ministers. In the country's capital, Tunis, outside the national assembly, crowds gathered on Thursday to protest what they say is the growing influence of Islamists. It follows the occupation of a university campus by a religious group, which wants male and female students segregated. Khadija Magardie reports.
